The "Lost Questions"

Over the years, the exams presented by NCARB have evolved. From reducing the total number of exams in the move from ARE 4.0 to ARE 5.0; to changing the format; to changing the types of questions; to changing the total number of questions; the exams have seen substantial changes. The first such change to the 5.0 Exams reduced the total number of questions in each exam while increasing the amount of time a tester has to complete that exam. The second change removed all of the quantitative-fill-in-the-blank style of questions, and this latest change resulted in the removal of the Drag and Place questions.

With this NCARB evolution over the years, so to has come the need for the Walking the ARE Exams to also make these changes. Reducing the number of questions prompted the Walking the ARE Practice Management (PcM) and Programming and Analysis (PA) exams to include an additional answer sheet for the shorter version from the original, but it was not until this latest change that questions were "lost" to these exams.

The "Lost Questions" are all of the drag and place questions that were originally included in each of these exams that have since been rewritten into one of the remaining question types which ultimately created a new dynamic and a new question for each of them. While the "type" of question has been removed, the need for the applied knowledge remains the same, which is why this was created.

All of the questions provided here were the old drag and place questions that used to exist in this exam. The number of each question was its original number when the exam was created. These "Lost Questions" will only work with the full-length exam as some of the questions rely on the case study documents in order to be able to answer them.

Even though NCARB has decided to abandon them, the application of knowledge still plays a role in helping people pass their exams;

Because that is the goal.

These questions will never be "lost"...
